The Focal Sopra Subwoofer SW 1000 Be active subwoofer is a version of the well-known Electra Be model, optimized to work in conjunction with the Sopra series speaker systems. The Focal Sopra Subwoofer SW 1000 Be features a 330mm driver with a multi-layered cone diffuser made using the proprietary "W" technology.

The W diffuser in this subwoofer has a foamed layer (structural foam) sandwiched between two fiberglass shells. This provides very high rigidity, low weight, and excellent internal damping of the diaphragm, ensuring minimal distortion even at high volume levels. The model features an acoustically inert cabinet with an integrated laminar rear-firing port on the bottom front, eliminating dynamic compression.
A LCD display is built into the top inclined part of the front panel, allowing for easy adjustments. The subwoofer is equipped with a 600-watt hybrid amplifier with a Bridged Amplifier Switching Hybrid configuration, operating in class H+ and competing in quality with Class AB amplifiers while maintaining a high efficiency similar to Class D models. The Focal Sopra Subwoofer SW 1000 Be includes a 24-bit DSP signal processor to provide various operating modes and settings, with a remote control provided for adjustments.
The subwoofer features a switchable and adjustable infrasound filter with a steep 48 dB/octave slope. Volume, gain coefficient, and signal phase adjustments, as well as a cutoff frequency adjustment between 50 and 150 Hz, are possible. The Boost bass enhancement mode and night mode are available, allowing for adjustment of the dynamic range and adequate bass output even at low volume settings. Three presets are available: Cinema, Hi-Fi, and custom, which can be modified. The rear panel of the subwoofer includes two RCA low-level inputs, an LFE input, and digital coaxial input and output. The coaxial output allows for connection with a series of similar subwoofers to enhance the low-frequency range. The model also includes an Autopower function that switches it to standby mode after 15 minutes of no signal.
