Description

The portable headphone amplifier FiiO K3S is an updated version of the K3, with various parameters and equipment being readjusted. Its performance has been significantly improved, allowing for a higher quality music listening experience.

Features:

  • Portable amplifier with DAC;
  • ESS ES9038Q2M DAC chip;
  • Can be used as a USB DAC;
  • Capable of decoding PCM384K/DSD256;
  • Headphone outputs: 3.5 mm, 2.5 mm;
  • Detailed sound and powerful bass.

Equipped with the Xmos USB decoding chip, utilizing the mature and stable OPA926 driver chip, the DAC chip uses the flagship model ESS ES9038Q2M in the realm of portable applications. The front panel features 2.5 and 3.5 mm outputs. Gain and low-frequency switches are also located there, next to the volume knob and LED indicator. The back panel has a linear output, coaxial and optical outputs, USB 1.0/2.0 switch, and a USB Type-C connector for connecting to a PC/smartphone.

This model features a USB receiver based on the XMOS interface, capable of receiving signals with parameters up to 32 bit/384 kHz (PCM) and DSD256. A dual-color LED is used to determine the type of input signal in the amplifier. The FiiO K3S can also function as a DAC for a stationary computer or laptop, making it truly versatile. The DAC is equipped with a dual oscillator (for signals with different frequency grids), making data processing very precise and reducing jitter.

When listening to music, the bass is very clean, controlled, and punchy, with a good body and impact. The bass resolution is very good, as well as the attack. Its decay is also quite impressive, as the bass does not smear to the sides. The low frequencies sound very clean, as well as the rest of the spectrum. The amount is just right in terms of balancing the mids and sub-bass.

The entire black aluminum alloy body, after CNC processing and re-polishing, is then anodized and finely ground, making it durable and textured. It is set according to the characteristics of the USB power interface, distinguishing between the internal digital and analog parts of the power supply, effectively avoiding power supply fluctuations.

Package Includes:

  • Headphone amplifier;
  • Documentation.
