Clavia Nord Piano 5 88 — a digital piano with a Triple Sensor keyboard and the proprietary Virtual Hammer Action technology. It is equipped with the Piano and Sample Synth sections. The sections work with two assignable layers that can be used simultaneously in various configurations. The keyboard operates using Virtual Hammer Action technology. Tones and presets can be seamlessly switched during play. Special filters for the Piano section allow for precise customization of the tones of selected instruments.
Two Independent Pianos and Sample Synthesizers
The Nord Piano 5's Piano and Sample Synthesizer sections each contain two independent layers. Two pianos and two sample synthesizers can be used simultaneously in different configurations with splitting or layering. Combined with versatile effects routing, a wide range of combinations can be achieved - from classic ensemble settings to rich soundscapes. LED level controls provide quick and precise balancing of all layer volume levels. The volume pedal and/or sustain pedal can be assigned to each layer.
Live Performance-Oriented Design
The Nord Piano 5 features dedicated knobs and buttons for full practical control during live performances. Transposing, setting split points, or creating layered sounds can be done instantly.

The unique Virtual Hammer Action technology combined with the physical hammer movements provides outstanding authenticity and dynamic response, resulting in keyboard action that offers dynamic play with stunning control at any speed. The Triple Sensor keyboard also provides authentic features such as note repetition without fully lifting the key, ensuring smooth repetitions and transitions similar to an acoustic piano.

The Triple Sensor keyboard has added weight for improved dynamic control, providing authentic touch and feel of a piano. Each individual key is carefully calibrated at the Nord factory to ensure even response across the entire range.
Enhanced String Resonance
The unique enhanced string resonance accurately reproduces the complex interaction of piano strings and adds a rich ambiance of a real piano when playing with the pedal pressed.
Nord Triple Pedal with Dynamic Pedal Noise
The Nord Triple Pedal includes Soft and Sostenuto pedals in addition to the unique dynamic Sustain pedal. The Triple Pedal also includes our pedal noise feature, which dynamically simulates the mechanical sounds of lifting and releasing the damping mechanism.
Creative Piano Filters
Special filters for the piano provide an additional level of sound control, emphasizing softness, mid-range, or brightness for acoustic pianos and grand pianos. Electric pianos are equipped with special filters, including an emulation of the legendary Dyno preamp.
Soft Release
The soft release mode adds a slightly longer decay, more suitable for legato playing, mimicking a weaker damper tension on an acoustic or electromechanical instrument.

Two Completely New Independent Sample Synthesizers with significantly expanded memory and a plethora of new sounds
The synthesizer section is based on a completely new format and features a wide range of new sounds such as solo brass, solo strings, basses, guitars, as well as an extensive collection of classic analog leads and basses. It also includes samples from Symphobia and Swing. All sounds can be quickly replaced using the Nord sound manager. You can also create your own instrument samples using the unique free Nord Sample Editor software for Mac and Windows.
Synthesizer Section provides two full-featured and independent layers, equipped with intuitive control elements for attack and speed-based dynamic response. New tone settings provide a quick way to shape the sound tone.
Unison, True Vibrato, and More
The new sample format in Piano 5 offers several interesting new features. Unison creatively combines multiple voice samples for rich, ensemble sounds, "True Vibrato" accurately models unique vibrato characteristics of a wide range of brass, woodwind, and string instruments, while cyclic playback allows for quick reproduction of natural sound. Additionally, synthesizer sounds are available as monophonic samples with legato. Three delay settings are available, optimized for both acoustic instruments and analog synthesizer sounds.
