The flagship model CELVIANO Grand Hybrid GP-510BP is a premium-class instrument with outstanding performance. It opens up access to the world of the greatest pianos, whose unique character and timbre have been recreated using advanced Casio technologies.
The project involves three legendary instruments from Berlin, Hamburg, and Vienna, representing the pinnacle of piano art. The Berlin piano is known for its balanced and elegant sound for impressionist music. The Hamburg piano impresses with a bright timbre and a wide range of expressive possibilities. The Vienna piano is famous for its powerful low register and warm sound, perfect for classical music. GP-510BP offers a unique experience of owning three outstanding pianos in one instrument, opening up new possibilities for creativity and performance.
The creation of authentic sound became possible thanks to Casio's collaboration with the respected piano manufacturer C. Bechstein. Casio engineers conducted a thorough analysis of the benchmark D282 instrument – Bechstein's masterpiece, to achieve a pure and balanced sound. Master Albrecht supervised the sound development at Casio's research center.
At the heart of the sound is the AiR Grand Sound Source system, using Casio technologies for incredible expressiveness. The Multi-dimensional Morphing technology provides smooth sound transitions, and the Acoustic Simulator accurately reproduces the acoustic characteristics of a real piano, creating a sense of purity in sound.
Casio GP-510BP aims to reproduce not only the sound but also the tactile sensations of playing an acoustic piano. The innovative Resonance System simulates complex resonance phenomena while adding features of open string resonance and aliquot resonance for realism. The Action Sound System reproduces the mechanical noises of the instrument, which is part of live performance. The Key Off Simulator adjusts the sound decay depending on key release speed, and the Hammer Response takes into account sound extraction for each piano model. The Grand Pedal System offers precise control over pedal depth, including half-pedal function for expressive playing.
Casio has developed a special acoustic system for the Grand Hybrid to convey the power of a live piano. It reproduces sound both upwards and downwards from the instrument's body. The four-channel system with six speakers creates a voluminous sound field with powerful bass and clear frequencies. Adjusting the instrument's lid affects the sound and is connected to a digital lid simulator that accurately reproduces timbre changes depending on lid opening. There is also a hall simulator with 12 types of acoustics from famous concert halls and a listener positioning function, creating a full immersion effect and opening up possibilities for creativity.
