The new Reference Alpha models are equipped with a diamond dome tweeter, and diamond coating is also used in the construction of the midrange driver's diaphragm, making it slightly thinner and more durable. Similar to the limited edition Canton Reference GS, the low-frequency drivers use the proprietary BCT (Black Ceramic Tungsten) diaphragms. According to the developers, the crossover has been optimized, and the internal wiring has been replaced. The position of the stiffening ribs inside the cabinet has also been changed, allowing for an increased useful internal volume.
Features:
- Wave surround 3.0 technology, thanks to three bends in the suspension ensuring uniform vibration and symmetrical power distribution even at high volumes
- Crossovers equipped with high-precision, high-class components from Mundorf, providing precise signal separation and optimal sound quality
- Exclusively using CantoLink 600 K cables, specially manufactured for Canton by the renowned German manufacturer in-akustik
Innovative technologies and high-quality materials make the Reference Alpha another milestone. BCT diaphragms, first used in the Reference series, can also be found in the new Reference Alpha. Additional diamond coating has been applied to the new midrange system, providing the cabinet with even greater rigidity and precision for a neutral, dynamic, and realistic sound. All this is complemented by the Wave surround 3.0 technology, which ensures uniform vibration and symmetrical power distribution even at high volumes thanks to three bends in the suspension. Perfectly matched components ensure controlled operation and maximum sound quality.
The Reference Alpha 2 impresses with its majestic design, combining elegance and power. As a measure of all things, it remarkably combines grace and design. Standing over 160 cm tall, the silhouette exudes presence, while the combination of flawless lacquer and walnut wood creates a timeless, elegant design. Despite its impressive size, the speakers appear light and graceful due to smooth lines and harmonious proportions. The handcrafted finish reflects the highest level of precision, with each detail - from the surface finish to the curved shape of the front panel - emphasizing the pursuit of perfection. The Reference Alpha is an acoustic and visual masterpiece designed to serve for a long time.
The elegant, curved design of the Reference Alpha combines aesthetics and functionality. The curved side panels, made of multi-layered wood, provide exceptional stability and minimize resonance. Finished with a high-quality blend of materials, they harmoniously blend into the overall concept. Acoustically optimized curves prevent reflections from the edges and give the speakers an impressive yet timeless look.
The Reference Alpha's high-frequency system impresses with its DCC dome tweeter, featuring a special diamond coating for exceptional rigidity and optimized vibration characteristics. Combined with an asymmetrical waveguide and a new grille design modeled by computer, dispersion characteristics are optimized, especially in the crossover and in the high-frequency range above 15,000 Hz. The result: crystal clear high frequencies, where the smallest details and nuances of music become audible.
The crossovers of the Reference Alpha are equipped with high-precision, high-class components from Mundorf, ensuring precise signal separation and optimal sound quality. Thanks to the Displacement Control technology, uncontrolled shifts of the low-frequency drivers are eliminated, effectively minimizing distortions and optimally utilizing the pass band. Even at high volumes, the reproduction remains accurate and detailed, with powerful, controlled bass and crisply defined high frequencies.
