The bass guide, first used in compact speakers, is an integral part of the speaker base and allows them to be easily placed on side stands or freely in the room with perfectly matching "Reference LS" stands. Thanks to precise tuning in the lab and listening room, as well as the use of high-quality crossover components, the 2-way speakers provide excellent sound from compact cabinets.

Modern Technology
The compact Reference 9 speaker systems are equipped with a single 174mm BCT diffuser, which provides high rigidity and excellent internal damping with low weight. The BCT diffuser ensures precise and faithful reproduction of low and mid frequencies. The ideal partner for the woofer-midrange driver is the 25mm BC tweeter, which excels in detail and transparency of reproduction, emphasizing the excellent sound quality of Reference 9. A significant role in the excellent sound of the speakers is played by the accurately designed crossover, equipped with hand-selected components. Reference 9 speakers are equipped with WBT nextgen™ connecting terminals, which provide reliable and lossless connection of speakers to the amplifier. The connecting terminal is equipped with our RC technology, which allows sensitive adjustment of the tweeter level in 1.5 decibel steps. Level adjustment allows adapting the compact speakers to the listener's preferences or correcting the existing room acoustics.
Design
The Reference speaker systems are manufactured at the plant in Weilrod, located in the Taunus region of Germany. To achieve the best sound development in compact cabinets, engineers designed the Reference 9 cabinets from scratch. They have large radii on the side panels, bottom, and top, as well as a round partition to achieve the maximum possible edge gap of the cabinet. This concept reduces diffraction effects at the edges and significantly contributes to optimizing sound dispersion of the speakers. Computer-optimized chamber system and carefully designed internal rigidity prevent the occurrence of standing waves and resonances that destroy the cabinet. The high-gloss finish is applied in twelve layers, sanded and meticulously polished. This gives the Reference 9 cabinet an irresistible sense of depth. As an alternative, the speakers are offered in three colors. Acoustically optimized fabric covers are attached to magnets on the front panel of each cabinet individually, completing the noble appearance of the compact Reference 9.
