Cambridge Audio CXN100

The Cambridge Audio CXN100 is a network player that succeeds the award-winning CXN V2 model. The CXN100 is more than just an upgraded CXN V2.

Features:

  • Reference-grade ESS ES9028Q2M SABRE32 DAC for best-in-class sound clarity
  • Latest StreamMagic Gen4 module offering full streaming capabilities, including MQA compatibility
  • Built-in Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, and Deezer
  • Digital signal up to 32-bit/768 kHz PCM and DSD 512
  • Compatible with multi-room systems Google Home, Apple AirPlay, and Roon
  • Flexible connectivity options: USB, Chromecast, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, XLR, RCA

The new player has been completely redesigned using the latest components and the Gen4 StreamMagic module from Cambridge Audio. The result is a significant step forward in sound quality, functionality, and value for money. The Cambridge Audio CXN100 is released together with the CXA81 Mk II amplifier, an iterative upgrade of the renowned CXA81, providing the best sound and features in its price range.

Cambridge Audio has been creating innovative, transparent-sounding, and beautifully designed audio products since the release of the revolutionary P40 amplifier in 1968. Like all Cambridge products, the CXN100 was designed, tuned, and constructed at their own music facility in London and at the Cambridge Audio Melomania headquarters.

The digital-to-analog converter (DAC) is a key component of any streaming device. The reference-grade ESS ES9028Q2M SABRE32 DAC at the core of CXN100 can process digital signals up to 32-bit/768 kHz PCM and DSD 512 with high precision, excellent dynamic range, and very low distortion.

Thanks to advanced technologies, one ESS ES9028Q2M DAC in the CXN100 sounds and measures noticeably better than two Wolfson DACs in the CXN V2. The time filter inside the ESS 9028Q2M is so good that it eliminates the need for an additional filter after the DAC, resulting in jitter-free precision and best-in-class sound purity.

The model also features new, more efficient capacitors and operational amplifiers, increasing the signal-to-noise ratio and reducing distortion.

The inclusion of the Gen4 StreamMagic module, found in the legendary Cambridge Evo 150 and Evo 75 all-in-one players, opens up a multitude of streaming possibilities. Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, and Deezer are built into the system, providing easy access to a vast world of music and podcasts. High-resolution internet radio is also available at the touch of a button thanks to MPEG-DASH support.

For seamless music sharing across devices throughout the home, the CXN100 is fully compatible with multi-room systems Google Home, Apple AirPlay, and Roon.

Like all Cambridge network players, the CXN100 is fully controllable via the intuitive StreamMagic app. The model also works with the CX series system remote control included with CX series amplifiers and the CXC CD transport (sold separately).
