Auris Phonio combines innovative design with two separate high-performance phono stages. Each stage has its own input connectors and preamplifier circuitry, allowing you to use any cartridge without compromises.
Phonio is a specially designed preamplifier with ultra-low noise levels, made from top-quality components. It incorporates low-noise MELF resistors and WIMA capacitors, which, when combined, result in the ideal RIAA curve.
Features:
- Linear power supply
- MC load selection
- MC gain selection
- Output voltage of 5V
- Signal-to-noise ratio of 88dB for MM and 70.5dB for MC
- Separate inputs for MM and MC
The Sound Plus operational amplifiers are connected using advanced topology, ensuring precise RIAA equalization and preserving all the details while suppressing noise and harmonics that can cause discomfort during listening. Additionally, hi-end electrolytic capacitors are utilized in the circuit to enhance low-frequency performance, resulting in fast and powerful bass reproduction.
Phonio is equipped with MM and MC inputs that are easily selectable. It also offers various options for resistive and capacitive loading to optimize the sound of MC cartridges. For MC cartridges, load options of 70, 100, 150, and 400 ohms are available with capacitance ranges of 1000, 2000, 3200, and 4200 pF.
For MC cartridges, there are three gain modes available: 60, 66, and 69 dB. For MM cartridges, the fixed gain level is 43.2 dB.
Shielded enclosure The aluminum casing of Phonio provides shielding against radio frequency signals, including electromagnetic interference from power transformers, ensuring the integrity of the analog signal.
A combination of a low-dropout power management LDO and a filter capacitance exceeding 5000 µF provides a power supply with low noise. The phono stage also features protection against thermal overload and short circuit.
Separate inputs for MM and MC Phonio has separate inputs for connecting MM and MC cartridges. Simply connect your turntable cable to the corresponding input connectors. If your turntable has a separate grounding wire, it should be securely connected to the grounding terminal.
To avoid potential magnetic interference and increased noise levels, place the phono stage as far away as possible from the turntable or amplifier that make use of large transformers.
