The Audio-Technica VM750SH cartridge headshell is a bright representative of the new 700-series VM cartridge line with a moving magnetic system, which was announced by Audio-Technica at CES2017. Like all models in this family, it utilizes a pair of magnets arranged in a "V" shape, with one separate magnet for each channel. This innovative design ensures excellent channel separation, widens the frequency range, and enhances the tracking accuracy of vinyl records.

The Audio-Technica VM750SH model features special pair of toroidal coils (wound with OFC copper wire) that minimize magnetic flux leakage (thanks to a continuous magnetic circuit), providing outstanding linearity and improving the overall converter performance. In between the coils, there is a special plate made of a permalloy alloy (a mixture of iron, nickel, and alloying elements). This plate easily eliminates cross-talk induced by the coils, resulting in more accurate separation of the right and left channels.
This MM cartridge uses a diamond Shibata-tipped needle, originally developed for quadraphonic vinyl records that demand high performance in the high-frequency range. This profile delivers rich and full mid and low frequencies, as well as ultra-high frequencies with minimal distortion, due to its larger contact area with the grooves compared to a standard elliptical tip. The Shibata profile also helps reduce wear on both the record and the needle. The needle holder is made of aluminum and has a lightweight conical tube construction for precise tracking and accurate information retrieval.
The Audio-Technica VM750SH body is cast from an aluminum alloy, sporting a neat classic design and equipped with a quick-change block with a needle. This housing provides effective protection against unwanted vibrations and shields against various external electrical noises and interferences. The output voltage of the model is 4 mV.
