The Audio-Technica VM745ML cartridge is the entry-level model in the prestigious 700 series of MM cartridges from Audio-Technica. One of its main features is the use of two moving magnets in a "V" shape design, which achieves excellent channel separation, raises the upper limit of the frequency range, and provides precise tracking. The output voltage of this cartridge is 4 mV.

The Audio-Technica VM745ML features proprietary pair of toroidal coils with a closed core, which enhances the efficiency of the entire transducer and ensures superior linearity due to minimal magnetic flux leakage in such a continuous magnetic chain. A special shielding permalloy plate is installed between the coils to reduce their mutual influence, effectively suppressing crosstalk and contributing to improved channel separation. The conductors for winding the coils are made of high-purity oxygen-free copper, which also helps improve sound quality.
The needle has a MicroLine profile and can accurately track the record groove, resulting in a cleaner, more detailed presentation of musical material with various nuances compared to elliptical or conical needles. This profile is highly resistant to wear and minimizes vinyl wear. The needle is attached to a lightweight conical aluminum holder, which helps ensure accurate information retrieval.
The cast gold-colored body of the Audio-Technica VM745ML looks noble and uses an aluminum alloy as a material, allowing it to effectively combat vibrations and act as a natural shield against interference and noise.
