The Audio-Technica ATH-M60x headphones were designed for professional use in recording studios and radio stations, but they are sure to also appeal to many music lovers. They feature closed-back flat earcups that fit snugly and comfortably on the head, thanks to memory foam cushioning. The earpads and headband padding can be removed for cleaning if necessary. The elongated shape of the earcups provides excellent isolation from external noise and prevents sound leakage even at high listening volumes.
The Audio-Technica ATH-M60x are equipped with custom 45mm dynamic drivers, optimized to deliver a neutral sound signature across a wide frequency range. Similar drivers were used in the renowned Audio-Technica ATH-M50x model. The voice coil of the drivers is made of aluminum wire, which results in low weight and good conductivity. Combined with efficient magnets, this provides the Audio-Technica ATH-M60x with excellent sensitivity and a wide dynamic range.
The headphones are made using modern polymer materials, which give them relatively low weight while maintaining good mechanical strength. Parts of the headphone construction that experience particularly high stress are made of metal. Special internal damping in the earcups eliminates vibrations and sound coloration.
The Audio-Technica ATH-M60x headphones come with a detachable cable and three different connectors. This includes a coiled cable, which is 1.2 meters long when folded and up to 3 meters when fully stretched, as well as two straight cables, 1.2 and 3 meters in length. All connectors have 3.5mm mini-jack plugs, and an adapter for 6.3mm jacks is included in the package.
