Apple has introduced the AirPods Pro 3, taking the world's most popular headphones to a whole new level. When Live Translation is activated, it helps users understand another language and communicate naturally using AirPods. To interact with someone who does not have this loud communication ability, there is the option to use the iPhone as a horizontal display, showing a live transcript of what the user is saying in the preferred language of the other person. When the other person responds, their speech is translated into the user's preferred language with the help of AirPods. Everything is powered by Apple Intelligence.
This feature is even more useful for prolonged conversations when both users wear their AirPods and the Live Translation feature is enabled on their iPhone. The active noise cancellation feature of the AirPods lowers the volume of the interlocutor's speech, allowing them to focus on the translation without losing the connection.
The live translation feature on AirPods is available in English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish, and by the end of the year, it will be available in four more languages: Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.
