Turbosound

For the past 40 years, Turbosound has consistently demonstrated innovation and leadership in the world of high-end professional audio, producing iconic products that shape the entire industry and set new standards of quality.

The unofficial history of Turbosound begins in the days when men were men, sound reinforcement consisted of a truckload of Vox AC30s, and walls of speakers stretched to the horizon. Tony Andrew was one of the first to question the notion that music could never sound live the way the band and producer originally intended. He faced a seemingly impossible task at the time: create a speaker system with the highest possible sound quality in the smallest possible enclosure.

Tony's interest in the Glastonbury Festival led to the development of the Festival System, which consisted of separate loudspeakers for low, mid, and high frequencies. It already included the second generation of the Turbo phase device. This system, which still works remarkably well today, was a true revelation in concert sound in the mid-1970s and stood out from the large, colorized, and highly distorted sound produced by the massive PA systems of the time.
