Recording in 32-bit format with dual analog-to-digital converters enables the H6essential to record audio with an incredibly wide dynamic range. This ensures audio is recorded in perfect quality without clipping during each take.

The Essential series of recorders includes special features for visually impaired users. Menu sections have audio descriptions that play through the built-in speaker or connected headphones. Descriptions are available in English, Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Italian, and Chinese.

3.0 Generation Interchangeable Microphone Capsule System.
H6essential features a third-generation interchangeable microphone capsule system with 32-bit Float support, giving users more options when choosing the microphone for their specific task.
XYH-6e Stereo Microphone Capsule.
The recorder is equipped with two high-quality microphones arranged in an X/Y configuration. This setup is most sensitive to sounds coming directly from the front, simultaneously recording a clean stereo sound image.
SSH-6e "Shotgun" Capsule.
The interchangeable SSH-6e module consists of a super-directional microphone for center sound recording, as well as a bidirectional side microphone that captures signals from the left and right. The stereo width in Mid-Side recording can be adjusted from simple mono to ultra-wide capture. You can record speech on the central microphone and then mix in the desired amount of ambient noise captured by the side microphone.
EXH-6e Additional Inputs Module.
If you need additional inputs, simply connect the EXH-6e module to your recorder with two combined XLR/TRS inputs. This allows you to connect two additional microphones, instruments, or line-level sources to the recorder. Connect a USB-C cable to the EXH-6e connector to provide phantom power to the connectors. There is also a 3.5mm input for connecting line-level sources or lavalier microphones (with power supply).
Removable Microphones.
When the included X/Y module is not in use, you can remove it and cover the connector with the included cap, reducing the size of your H6e.
For Recording and Streaming.
By connecting to a PC, Mac, or iOS and Android devices via the USB-C port, you can use H6essential as an audio interface with 32-bit Float support, simultaneously recording all six tracks on an SD card.
