The Yamaha True X Bar SR-X40A soundbar has relatively small dimensions and a pleasant design, making it easy to integrate into a living interior. Like all speakers of this class, the soundbar is designed to significantly improve sound quality when watching movies and TV shows on TV. However, the Yamaha True X Bar SR-X40A is equipped with several proprietary technologies that set it apart from competitors.

The soundstage is wide and natural due to the considerable distance between the drivers of both channels. The Dolby Atmos processing is provided for additional spaciousness, which is particularly in demand when watching movies.
The soundbar offers HDMI input and output for 4K video transfer with ARC support, as well as optical and analog inputs for connecting external devices. The model also supports wireless technologies for playing various music content, including Wi-Fi for services like Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect.
The model supports AirPlay 2 technology for streaming Lossless and High-Resolution files. Bluetooth is available for easy connection to various mobile devices. The soundbar can also be supplemented with Yamaha True X Speaker X1A rear speakers, which are wireless speakers the size of a pint that can be used as portable Bluetooth speakers on the go.
The sound is processed by DSP with multiple operational modes, including four sound modes: "Movie," "Stereo," "Standard," and "Game." Two sound enhancement settings are available: Clear Voice and Bass Extension. Clear Voice makes dialogues clearer, ideal for watching dramas or news, while Bass Extension adds extra impact to bass for action-packed content like blockbusters and games. The soundbar can be controlled manually or using the remote control or the proprietary mobile app. The Yamaha True X Bar SR-X40A also supports the Alexa voice system. The soundbar delivers detailed sound with a pleasant tonal balance and excels at playing music of various genres.
