Yamaha NS-777 is a floor-standing speaker with a 3-way Bass-Reflex Tower acoustic system. The EF series (Elliptical Form) features Waveguide high/midrange horns, midrange and low-frequency drivers with Yamaha PMD (Polymer-injected Mica Diaphragm) Technology. The internal wiring uses Monster Cable speaker cables for maximum enjoyment of digital sound in a home theater or stereo system. The elegant cabinets have a traditional grand piano finish in Piano Black.
The Black, lacquered Yamaha NS-777 with slightly convex side panels stands out in a home theater due to its record dimensions and weight. The speaker walls are made of 12mm MDF panels, reinforced by horizontal braces. Inside, there is minimal absorbent material. The semi-transparent membranes of both woofers and midrange drivers are made of the signature composite polymer PMD (Polymer Injected Mica Diaphragm).
The voice coils of the drivers are wound with rectangular wire. The midrange driver is blocked by a damped plastic cap inside. The high frequencies are produced by a tweeter with an aluminum dome membrane and a diffusing lens. The crossover filters are built using non-polar electrolytic capacitors and inductors with ferrite cores. The large bass reflex port is located on the rear panel. The speakers are mounted on "spike" outrigger supports.
