The Vincent SP-T700 monoblock was clearly created "in the image and likeness" of its predecessors, the SP-T800, as evidenced by the identical dimensions and construction, including the power supply with an "inverted" toroidal transformer (suspended from the top panel). The mentioned 6S3P is used here as a voltage-to-current converter, with the 6J9P pentode serving as the driver.
Features:
- Tube models: 1 x 6S3P-EV, 1 x 6CH9P, 1 x 6Z4
- Frequency range: 20 Hz - 20,000 Hz
- Signal-to-noise ratio: 90 dB
- Power per channel: 4 Ohm 300 W, 8 Ohm 150 W
These are hybrid amplifiers with a loaded lamp input stage and a power transistor section. This almost classical approach combines the advantages of tubes, which leave their mark on the speakers, with the strength of solid-state design.
To make this power available, the SP-T700 units are equipped with a highly efficient transformer, which - together with the thick-walled casing - contributes to amplifiers of appropriate weight. One of the tubes is showcased to the listener on a "display," and to make it equally magnificent, the display window can be illuminated in three different brightness levels. The SP-T700 has two pairs of connectors, which can also be activated separately, plus two 3.5 mm mini-jack sockets labeled "Power Control" to allow remote activation via a preamplifier.
The output stages are represented by three complementary pairs of Toshiba bipolar transistors, 2SA1943 and 2SC5200 (230 V/15 A/150 W). The rectifier 6Z4 is located on the front panel. The amplifier operates in Class A mode for the first few watts, smoothly transitioning to the usual AB mode.
