Four Types of Drivers

MEST MKIII combines four different types of drivers. Low frequencies are handled by the dynamic driver, while mid and high frequencies are delivered by BA drivers. The electrostatic driver takes care of ultra-high frequencies, and the piezoelectric driver with bone conduction made of silver and palladium alloy provides complete frequency compensation. The result is exceptional layering and separation, resulting in holographic sound and a three-dimensional image. Optimized Sound Tuning

By selecting an electrostatic driver, UM engineers have improved the frequency response range, allowing for an extended high-frequency range. This choice enables the ear to capture intricate sound details that are usually imperceptible. Equipped with four electrostatic drivers, MEST MKIII provides increased sensitivity, minimal distortion, intricate detailing, and enhanced spatial perception. Paying special attention to details and bass quantity, MEST MKIII emphasizes crucial nuances and delivers vibrant and energizing sound.

MEST MKIII utilizes bone conduction technology, using lateral vibration of the cavity for direct sound transmission to the inner ear through contact with the skull, bypassing the traditional path through the ear canal. With an exceptional frequency response range, ranging from 20 Hz to 70 kHz, MEST MKIII exhibits remarkable versatility. Dynamic drivers and BA drivers operate in the range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, while electrostatic drivers excel in the range of 10 kHz to 70 kHz. The bone conduction system made of silver and palladium alloy provides complete frequency compensation in the range of 500 Hz to 16 kHz. Thanks to the harmonious interaction between air transmission and vibration, MEST MKIII provides a completely new dimension of sound quality. Piezoelectric Bone Conduction Driver Made of Patented UM Silver-Palladium Alloy

The piezoelectric bone conduction driver made of silver-palladium alloy consists of 27 ceramic layers, each with a thickness of 23-25 micrometers. To ensure optimal product performance, each bone conduction unit undergoes rigorous testing for capacitance, dielectric loss, displacement, and resonance frequency. The use of heat-resistant, conductive palladium paste allows the ceramic to be bonded at a temperature of 980 °C, providing exceptional performance and reliability. Unlike double vibrating bone conduction with 14 ceramic layers, the piezoelectric bone conduction driver made of silver and palladium alloy has multiple layers and increased thickness, which enhances the vibrational efficiency of bone conduction and provides clear and superior sound.

By integrating all the crossovers on a gold-plated PCB, MEST MKIII provides excellent stability and consistency while simultaneously increasing electrical conductivity due to its gold-plated surface. The PCB includes high-precision components that ensure excellent sound quality and reliable stability.

Custom Cable

MEST MKIII is equipped with a new-design cobalt blue shielding cable. These cables are made of pure 4-wire OCC copper, have a nylon sheath, and an environmentally friendly soft PVC coating. Thanks to a 26 AWG gauge, these cables have ultra-low resistance and minimal distortion, providing maximum clarity and amazingly clean sound background.

Silicone "Christmas Tree" Ear Tips

Made of silicone material, the transparent ear tips are exquisitely soft and elastic, providing a snug fit to the ear. The ear tips are available in two variations: perforated (open) and solid, petal-shaped, allowing for replacement according to individual preferences. The open ear tips have six holes on the edges to provide air permeability and reduce pressure. Thanks to their excellent comfort, these ear tips can be worn for extended periods while maintaining sensitivity to ambient sounds.
