The Doors is the debut album by the American band The Doors, recorded in 1966 and released in 1967 by Elektra. It includes the song "Light My Fire" (the single that helped the band break into the music charts), which features a significantly expanded instrumentation compared to the single version. The long closing track, "The End," features a significant portion of Jim Morrison's recitative, employing the so-called stream-of-consciousness technique on the Freudian theme of the Oedipus complex. The song "Back Door Man" is a cover of Willie Dixon's composition of the same name, written for the renowned bluesman Howlin' Wolf.
