Description

The first headphones of the SR-Lambda series were released back in 1979. Over the past decades, several generations have passed, each with its own improvements. The SR-L300 is the entry-level model in the modern Lambda lineup, released in 2016, and is the most affordable way to experience electrostatic sound today - open, transparent, incredibly fast, and detailed.

Premium-quality elements:

The SR-L300 uses a manually selected thin film diaphragm, as well as durable stationary electrodes made of stainless steel. This helps achieve perfectly balanced rich and deep bass, smooth midrange, and delicate high frequencies.

Slider-type headband:

The headband assembly (ARC) of the SR-L300 headphones is equipped with a stepless slider mechanism for adjusting the padding height.

New low-capacitance oxygen-free copper cable:

The cable conductors are made of high-purity oxygen-free copper. The cable is designed in a flat WIDE configuration to minimize contact between individual conductors, and is terminated with connectors suitable for connection to a dedicated amplifier.

New high-quality earpads:

The earpads feature a carefully designed high-quality synthetic leather for maximum comfort during long listening sessions, as well as for natural sound reproduction.

Earpads material

The material of earpads affects both your comfort and the sound. It can be leather, eco-leather, velour, fabric/microfiber and foam rubber.

Glossary of terms
synthetic leather
Headphone type

Over-Ear (cover the ear completely), on-ear (pressed against the ear), in-ear (inserted into the ear canal) or earbuds (inserted into the auricle, but not inserted into the ear canal).

Glossary of terms
wired
Kind of headphones
over-ear

The type of headphones that cover the ears and can provide complete noise isolation.

Словарь терминов
Cable length, m

The length should allow you to lay the cable with a small margin. The longer the cable, the more impact it can have on the sound.

Driver type

Most of the headphones are dynamic but there are electrostatic, isodynamic, etc.

Glossary of terms
electrostatic

The thinnest membrane (usually mylar) charged from a high-voltage power supply, which is hung up between two grid electrodes to which an audible signal is applied.

Словарь терминов
Headphone sensitivity, dB

More sensitive headphones will play louder than headphones with less sensitivity (with the same signal level and resistance)

Glossary of terms
101
Impedance, Ohms

No higher than 32 Ohms for smartphone headphones. When using a good player or amplifier, it can be up to 100 Ohms. For stationary models you should coordinate the impedance with the amplifier power

Glossary of terms
145000
Material
plastic, metal
Number of drivers

The number of drivers in each headphone. However, quantity does not equal quality. Driver coordination, their configuration, correct crossover, sound bores affects the sound

Glossary of terms
1
The highest frequency, kHz

The upper limit of the frequencies reproduced by the device. The human ear hears the standard frequency range: 20 Hz – 20000 Hz.

Glossary of terms
41
The lowest frequency, Hz
7
Type of acoustic design

Open (with no insulation) or closed (passive noise insulation) or semi-open (intermediate version). Open headphones sound more airy and provide a wide stage, closed ones provide noise isolation and amplify low frequencies.
