Like other microphones in the SOYUZ family, the 1973 is not a copy or clone of vintage models, but a classic format in a modern execution. Everything is done in the old-fashioned way: in-house production capabilities, attention to detail, no cutting corners in the processes.

Microphone for Generations
SOYUZ microphones are expensive and worth every penny. But until now, they have been out of reach for many. Therefore, the company set out to design and build a "SOYUZ" that could be sold at an affordable price. A people's microphone. SOYUZ engineers optimized where they could. They included only the essentials and were able to create a less expensive microphone that one can truly be proud of. The SOYUZ company proudly presents to you the "Soyuz 1973."
Capsule
The 1973 microphone is equipped with the S23 capsule - a proprietary development of SOYUZ with an interesting history of creation. In the early 1970s, the popular Austrian AKG CK12 capsule was modified at the LOMO plant, adding three electrodes to increase sound stability. In 2015, SOYUZ designers reworked the capsule for the 023 Bomblet series, and now have further adapted it for the 1973 series.
Resonator
A resonator is installed next to the capsule in the microphone, which minimizes unwanted reflections and adds protection against wind noise. This makes the 1973 extremely convenient for recording vocals and speech in podcasts and vlogs.
Attenuator
The microphone has a built-in attenuator with two modes of operation: -10 dB and -20 dB for recording loud and very loud sources.
