Product Description
The 1973 is a professional yet affordable large-diaphragm condenser microphone with handcrafted capsules and world-class build quality. Like other microphones in the SOYUZ family, the 1973 is not a copy or clone of vintage models, but rather a classic format reimagined for the modern era. Everything is done the old-fashioned way: in-house production facilities, meticulous attention to detail, and no cutting corners.
Made with Love
Remember the times when true craftsmanship was valued? When everything was handmade, and a product went from idea to finished product in one place by a team with a shared dream. The developers of SOYUZ also miss those times, which is why they manufacture microphones in this way. From a business perspective, this is less efficient than outsourcing production. But the results are worth it.
Microphone for a Lifetime
SOYUZ microphones are expensive and worth every penny. But until now, they were out of reach for many. That's why the company set out to design and build a "SOYUZ" that could be sold at an affordable price. A microphone for the people. SOYUZ engineers optimized where they could, including only the essentials and creating a more affordable microphone that you can truly be proud of. The SOYUZ company proudly presents to you the "Soyuz 1973".
Capsule
The 1973 microphone is equipped with the S23 capsule - a development unique to SOYUZ with an interesting history of creation. In the early 1970s, at the "LOMO" enterprise, the popular Austrian AKG CK12 capsule was modified with three electrodes to enhance sound stability. In 2015, SOYUZ designers revamped the capsule for the 023 Bomblet series, and now further adapted it for the 1973 series.
Resonator
An additional resonator is installed near the capsule in the microphone to minimize unwanted reflections and provide protection against wind noise. This makes the 1973 extremely convenient for recording vocals and speech in podcasts and vlogs.
Attenuator
The microphone features a built-in attenuator with two operating modes: -10 dB and -20 dB for recording loud and very loud sources.

The compact form factor of the 1973 makes it an ideal tool for recording in hard-to-reach places. Simple, sturdy, and reliable - this microphone will serve you for many years.
