Sony has released the new flagship wireless earbuds, the WF-1000XM5. This model is the successor to the WF-1000XM4 and offers a range of key improvements not only in design but also in sound quality.

The earbuds are equipped with exclusive 8.4mm Sony Dynamic Driver X drivers and support the high-definition LDAC codec. The built-in Sony QN2e and V2 processors are responsible for sound processing, with a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz (up to 40kHz with LDAC). The specially designed Dynamic Driver X driver ensures wide frequency reproduction, allowing for a more rich and detailed vocal experience.
The WF-1000XM5 is 25% smaller and 20% lighter compared to the previous generation. The earbuds and case have become noticeably more compact. The earbuds have a rounded shape without protruding details, which likely contributes to wearing comfort. The case has also become smaller. The WF-1000XM5 comes with four sizes of ear tips, including SS. The ear tips are made of a special material that perfectly conforms to the shape of the ear canal.
Speak-to-Chat allows you to talk and listen to ambient sound by pausing music playback when you start speaking.
Machine learning algorithms with artificial intelligence suppress ambient noise, ensuring clear voice transmission even in noisy environments. The earbuds are equipped with three microphones on each earbud that suppress low frequencies and enhance ambient sound in Ambient Sound or Quick Attention mode. The QN2e chip controls all six microphones and processes information for effective noise cancellation.
The built-in batteries provide up to 8 hours of playback with noise cancellation enabled and up to 12 hours without it. The case allows for two full charges of the earbuds, providing a total battery life of around 24 hours. The case supports both wired and wireless charging using the Qi standard.
With improved glossy texture and luxurious feel, these earbuds fit comfortably in the ear and come with a smaller case, making them even more elegantly pocket-sized.
