Description

The SM7B is a microphone with a smooth and warm sound, perfect for close distance work such as recording radio shows and voiceovers for television. It is also widely used for recording vocal parts in numerous albums.

Why do you need a microphone with electromagnetic noise protection?

Electromagnetic noise is emitted by computer monitors, which can interfere with your sound if the microphone is in close proximity to a television or computer monitor screen and is not shielded.

Features:

  • Flat and wide frequency response for exceptionally clean and natural reproduction of music and speech
  • Controls for low-frequency roll off and mid-range emphasis (presence effect) with graphical display of frequency response settings
  • Enhanced electromagnetic noise suppression, optimized for shielding against broadband interference emitted by computer monitors and other equipment
  • Internal shock mount virtually eliminates mechanical noise transmission
  • Highly efficient pop filter eliminates the need for any additional protection from explosive breath sounds when recording vocals or speech even at close distance
  • Bracket mount with nut for easy installation and removal provides precise microphone positioning control
  • Classic cardioid polar pattern, characterized by frequency uniformity and symmetry relative to the axis, ensures maximum rejection and minimal coloration of off-axis sound
  • Durable construction and excellent capsule protection for superior reliability
  • Windscreen designed to eliminate explosive sounds and give a warmer tone to vocals recorded at close distance

Package includes:

  • Microphone
  • Removable windscreen A7WS
  • Switch cover
  • Documentation

Microphone polar pattern

Omnidirectional, cardioid and supercardioid. It determines the sensitivity of the microphone to sound relative to the direction or angle, i.e. shows how well the microphone "hears" sound from different sides

Glossary of terms
cardioid

The polar pattern of the microphone that picks up the sound in front of it.

dynamic

The membrane of a dynamic microphone picks up sound waves, which make a coil located in a magnetic field move.
