The Shure MV7X is an affordable studio microphone designed for podcasting, streaming, and vocal work. This model is a version of the Shure MV7-K USB microphone, but without the built-in USB audio interface. Instead, the MV7X is traditionally connected to a mixer or audio interface using a microphone cable. By replacing the complex digital circuitry with a passive one, the MV7X is able to reduce interference and noise that enters the microphone.
The main feature of this model is its built-in noise isolation, allowing for effective use even in ordinary, acoustically untreated spaces and producing decent results. This is achieved through the dynamic capsule, which is less sensitive compared to a condenser capsule. The cardioid polar pattern also contributes to noise reduction from the sides and rear of the capsule, leaving only the front area as the audible zone. The frequency range of the device extends from 50 Hz to 16 kHz, providing more than enough spectrum to capture the full tone of speech or vocals.
The Shure MV7X microphone has a sturdy all-metal construction with a integrated 5/8-inch-27 thread mount and windscreen. The output for connecting to audio equipment is a standard 3-pin XLR connector.
