Description

Sennheiser E608 Instrument Microphone

The Sennheiser E608 instrument microphone with a "gooseneck" design is specifically designed for amplifying percussion and all types of wind instruments.

Features:

  • Frequency range: 40-16000 Hz
  • Impedance: 250 Ohm
  • Supercardioid directional characteristic
  • Designed for amplifying percussion and all types of wind instruments
  • Gooseneck design with a versatile clamp

This microphone has a supercardioid directional characteristic and a dynamic cartridge. The flexible gooseneck with a versatile clamp is designed for easy positioning. The microphone can withstand high sound pressure levels without distortion: the capsule can be placed close to the signal source. Extensive damping and shock-resistant construction isolate the capsule from external vibrations, noises, and shocks. The compensating coil protects against electrical interference, and the reinforced fiberglass body protects against damage from impact. Includes a soft case for storing and transporting the microphone.

Characteristics

Brand
Connectors
XLR
Diaphragm size
with a small membrane

Microphones used for recording that are distinguished by improved perception of high frequencies as well as sound sources with fast variable volume or sudden attack.

Словарь терминов
Free-field sensitivity without load (1 kHz), mV/Pa
0.8
Impedance, Ohms

No higher than 32 Ohms for smartphone headphones. When using a good player or amplifier, it can be up to 100 Ohms. For stationary models you should coordinate the impedance with the amplifier power

Glossary of terms
250
Microphone polar pattern

Omnidirectional, cardioid and supercardioid. It determines the sensitivity of the microphone to sound relative to the direction or angle, i.e. shows how well the microphone "hears" sound from different sides

Glossary of terms
supercardioid

The polar pattern of the microphone, which picks up the sound from the front and partially from the back.

Словарь терминов
Microphone type
dynamic

The membrane of a dynamic microphone picks up sound waves, which make a coil located in a magnetic field move.

Signal-to-noise ratio, dB

The higher signal-to-noise ratio, the clearer sound and the bigger the dynamic range provided by the system
