HDSPe MADI FX features 390 audio channels and three inputs/outputs - two optical and one coaxial, as well as one AES/EBU input/output and one analog output for monitoring. The newly developed modular core Hammerfall Pro Audio Core processes three times the number of channels compared to previous MADI interfaces, reducing the system load and ensuring low latency on modern computers.
The new core technology is accompanied by a special version of TotalMix FX, which allows for efficient use of a huge number of channels with faster DSP. Additionally, the integrated RME 192 kHz effects engine provides direct monitoring with numerous effects directly on the card device, independent of DAW software. You can use the HDSPe MADI FX card as a MADI router. Unlike most other solutions, the router can route each channel separately and even adjust the level of each channel.
Thanks to the new RME Audio Seamless Redundancy Operation technology, the card can function as a unified input device, recording up to 64 channels. If there is a failure on one channel, the signal is automatically switched to another channel. According to the manufacturer, the audio data stream is not interrupted when switching to another input, and you can use not only one MADI card, but also two or more additional MADI sources.
