The RME HDSPe AES is a compact PCI Express card with a digital AES/EBU interface. It features eight AES inputs (16 channels) with a sampling frequency of 192 kHz. Additionally, the RME HDSPe AES includes two MIDI In/Out and Word Clock In/Out. This makes it the perfect solution for professional users in radio, television, theater, and any professional studio settings. The RME HDSPe AES also features Word Clock input and output, as well as a 25-pin D-sub connector (pinout corresponds to Tascam devices) for connecting a cable adapter with four AES input and output XLR connectors.
On the breakout board, there is a 25-pin D-sub connector for the remaining four AES input and output connectors, as well as a connector for a cable adapter with four MIDI connectors. The RME HDSPe AES comes with the TotalMix software mixer (512 channels, 40-bit, MIDI-controllable) and a 48-channel level indicator (average or peak). It allows for flexible routing of inputs to outputs and the creation of up to eight stereo submixes. The most important settings of the RME HDSPe AES are stored directly on the card and can be used even before the driver is loaded when the computer is turned on.
