The multi-channel digital interface RME Digiface Dante, produced by a German brand, allows for transmitting 64 channels of Dante format as well as the same number of Madi channels with a connection to computer equipment via USB3.0. Thanks to the presence of DSP, RME's proprietary technologies and drivers such as TotalMix FX are supported. In addition to computer connection with digital channel input and output, standalone operation is also possible. The advantage of using the Dante protocol is the ability to transmit data quickly without compression and with minimal delays via an Ethernet network.
The Digiface Dante model is equipped with an FPGA chip and is capable of real-time submix control and routing for the TotalMix FX mixer without delays. The presence of a headphone jack allows for convenient monitoring of submix channels. By switching word clock connectors to Madi mode, the model can be used as a converter to convert Madi to Dante format. The model can be powered by an external source or via USB. The headphone output can be used as a line output for additional analog stereo mixing.
