The RME Digiface AVB is a 256-channel interface designed for seamless interaction over a gigabit network between Windows computers and various AVB-supported devices. By utilizing the AVB protocol, it enhances network bandwidth and provides scalability. While AVB is supported on Mac at the Ethernet controller level, Windows PC lacks support. This issue is resolved by the Digiface AVB interface from the reputable German company, RME. It allows for the organization of fast audio signal transmission across 256 channels using the AVB standard between Windows-controlled computers and AVB-supported equipment.
To connect, an internet network and USB 3.0 are used. The model is powered via the USB 3.0 bus. The fast connection through this bus enables the routing of up to 128 channels with frequencies up to 192,000 Hz to different Windows-controlled computers. A special AVDECC controller ensures clear detection of AVB equipment in the network, facilitating control and management of incoming and outgoing streams. A headphone output can be used for monitoring purposes.
