This manual vinyl turntable features a simple and reliable design, providing high-quality sound. It is based on the award-winning EISA Classic model, with the main improvement being the auxiliary plate similar to the one used in the top model "175-Vienna Philharmonic Recordplayer". To effectively isolate various structural elements of the turntable from vibrations, it uses dampers made of thermoplastic elastomers (TPE).
The Pro-Ject The Classic turntable comes with a brand-new 9-inch tonearm. The bearing of the support disc is a hardened polished spindle in a brass tube with a Teflon plate. The floating suspension with TPE balls (6 pieces) between the chassis and the top aluminum and MDF plate; dampened height-adjustable supports, carbon and aluminum tonearm. The gimbal type support bearing is precision-made, allowing for the connection cable to be inserted in the middle of the tube for easier tonearm movement.
The counterweight is equipped with a TPE damper that reduces the amplitude of resonant vibrations affecting the cartridge by 50 percent. The heavy aluminum support disc is made using modern thermoelastoplasts to dampen resonances. Common cast support discs are heavy (good for speed stability and low wow and flutter), but they have resonances that can color the sound.
The support disc is machined from a special aluminum alloy and has damping using polymer TPE with superior damping properties. The sub-platter and main bearing construction is similar to the one used in the Debut model. The hardened steel bearing with a bronze sleeve and Teflon coating operates very smoothly and quietly.
This turntable features tonearm and cartridge adjustments for azimuth and vertical tracking angle (VTA), which is unique for models in this price range and significantly simplifies cartridge selection. The Pro-Ject The Classic also comes with height-adjustable damped supports. The turntable includes a high-quality branded Connect it E cable and dust cover.
