The Debut series players were first introduced in the Pro-Ject catalog in 1998. While Pro-Ject had already released various models of turntables prior to this, they specifically chose the name for this new product. They wanted to emphasize that the Debut player was the perfect choice for music enthusiasts who were just starting to get into vinyl playback and wanted to buy their first high-quality Hi-Fi player.
Over the past nearly 20 years, the Pro-Ject Debut series players have undergone several upgrades and are now the best-selling models in their class. And now, the company has decided to introduce the completely redesigned Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO. All the key elements have been improved, and modifications have been made based on feedback from previous owners of these players.
The Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO player features a strong and durable MDF chassis, and it is available in nine different finishes, chosen based on customer preferences. In addition to glossy finishes, matte finishes have also been introduced. Furthermore, the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO is equipped with three height-adjustable metal feet, making it easier to align the player on any surface. Another important addition to the new product is the electronic speed switch (33/45 RPM), which was not present in all previous models. The corresponding button has been placed on the underside of the chassis to maintain the clean design of the player.
An important upgrade in the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO model is the use of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) for construction damping. This material is applied to the inner side of the support disc, effectively eliminating unwanted resonances and increasing its mass.
