The Pro-Ject Debut series first appeared in the Pro-Ject catalog in 1998. Although Pro-Ject had already released various turntable models, they chose the name "Debut" specifically to highlight its suitability for music lovers who were new to playing vinyl records and looking for their first Hi-Fi player.
Over the past nearly 20 years, the Pro-Ject Debut series turntables have undergone several updates and have become the best-selling models in their category. Now, the company has decided to introduce the completely redesigned Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO. All the important components have been improved, taking into account the feedback from previous model owners.
The sturdy and solid MDF chassis of the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO turntable can be finished in nine different options, carefully selected based on customer preferences. In addition to glossy finishes, matte finishes are now also available. Furthermore, the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO is equipped with three height-adjustable metal feet, making it easier to level the turntable on any surface. Another notable addition to the new model is the inclusion of an electronic speed switch for vinyl rotation (33/45 rpm), a feature that was not present in all previous models. To maintain the turntable's minimalist design, the corresponding button has been located on the underside of the chassis.
A significant improvement in the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO model is the incorporation of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) damping into its construction. This material is applied to the inner side of the platter, effectively eliminating unwanted resonances and increasing its weight.
