The Pro-Ject Debut series of turntables made its debut in the Pro-Ject catalog in 1998. While Pro-Ject had previously released various turntable models, they specifically chose the name "Debut" to highlight its suitability for music enthusiasts who were new to vinyl listening and wanted their first high-quality turntable.
Over the past nearly two decades, Pro-Ject's Debut series turntables have undergone several upgrades and have become the best-selling models in their category. And now, the company has decided to release the fully upgraded Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO, incorporating feedback and desires from previous owners of these turntables.
The Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO turntable features a solid and sturdy MDF chassis. Customers can choose from nine different finishes based on their preferences, including both glossy and matte options. Additionally, the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO is equipped with three adjustable metal feet, making it easy to level the turntable on any surface. Another notable addition to the new model is the electronic speed control for vinyl rotation (33/45 RPM), a feature that was not available in previous models. The corresponding button has been placed on the underside of the chassis to maintain the turntable's sleek design.
One significant modernization in the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO model is the use of thermal plastic elastomer (TPE) for dampening the construction. This material is specifically applied to the inner side of the support disc, effectively reducing unwanted resonances and increasing its mass.
