The Connect It RS interconnect cables utilize pure silver conductors, ensuring the highest conductivity across all frequency ranges. This means that music is reproduced accurately, and the cable transmits the signal neutrally and without distortion. Compared to copper, silver does not limit high frequencies, providing a more detailed and open sound. This is particularly important when transmitting weak signals from a phono cartridge. Low cable capacitance is also essential for a clean signal transmission.
For a cable, not only the conductor matters, but also the cable's dielectric, shielding, and manufacturing quality. The dielectric determines the cable capacitance, which is crucial. Technically, air is the best dielectric, but it is impractical to use. Pro-Ject uses polyethylene (PE) with excellent insulation characteristics. The Connect It DS and RS series cables use flexible foamed PE, ensuring low cable capacitance.
Shielding is done using an OFC copper braid with silver plating and a carbon conducting layer. This provides perfect signal protection and cable flexibility. All RS-Line cable connectors have copper housings with rhodium plating and carbon jackets.
