Description

The upgraded version of the affordable Pro-Ject Essential II Phono USB DC turntable is equipped with an improved external power supply and a synchronous motor control circuit, which reduces interference. The turntable features an MDF platter with a steel spindle. The bearing housing is made of bronze, and the bottom is made of Teflon to reduce friction and vibrations. The turntable chassis is also made of MDF, and despite its lightweight, the Pro-Ject Essential II Phono USB DC is resistant to external mechanical vibrations and resonances. To enhance vibration isolation, the turntable is placed on special feet with improved mechanical insulation from the surface of the shelf or table.

The turntable has an 8.6-inch straight aluminum tonearm with a sapphire bearing. The tonearm has been improved compared to the previous version, resulting in better sound quality. The tonearm is equipped with an MM-type OM5e cartridge, eliminating the need for cartridge compatibility selection. The external finish of the turntable is available in black, red, or white, and the Pro-Ject Essential II Phono USB DC comes with a dust cover.

The special feature of this turntable model is the built-in phono preamp and ADC with USB output. Thanks to this feature, the Pro-Ject Essential II Phono USB DC can be connected to any integrated amplifiers or AV receivers without specific inputs for MM cartridges. The digitized audio signal from the turntable can be transferred to a computer (PC or Mac) for conversion into corresponding files via the USB connection.

The Pro-Ject Essential II Phono USB DC turntable has two speeds with manual switching and a dampened tonearm lift. The device is highly reliable and easy to set up, and after proper adjustment, it can provide very good sound quality.
