Description

The improved version of the affordable Pro-Ject Essential II Phono USB DC vinyl player is equipped with an enhanced external DC power supply and a synchronous motor control circuit, which helps reduce interference. The player features an MDF platter supported by a steel spindle. The bearing housing is made of bronze and the bottom is made of Teflon to reduce friction and vibrations. The turntable chassis is also made of MDF and, despite its lightweight design, the Pro-Ject Essential II Phono USB DC is resistant to external mechanical vibrations and resonances. To improve vibration isolation, the player is installed on special supports with enhanced mechanical insulation from the surface of the shelf or table.

The player has an 8.6-inch aluminum straight tonearm with a sapphire bearing. The tonearm has been improved compared to the previous version of this model, which has positively impacted sound quality. The tonearm comes with an MM-type OM5e cartridge, eliminating the need for cartridge compatibility selection. The external finish of the player is available in black, red, or white, and the Pro-Ject Essential II Phono USB DC comes with a dust cover.

The standout feature of this vinyl player model is the built-in phono preamplifier and ADC with a USB output. Thanks to this, the Pro-Ject Essential II Phono USB DC can be connected to any integrated amplifiers or AV receivers without dedicated inputs for MM cartridges. And through a USB connection, the digitized audio signal from the turntable can be transferred to a computer (PC or Mac) to be converted into appropriate files.

The Pro-Ject Essential II Phono USB DC player has two manually switchable disc speeds and a damped tonearm lift. The device is highly reliable and easy to set up, and when properly configured, it can provide excellent sound quality.
