R15 - an award-winning compact MM / MC phono preamplifier, providing the perfect interface between the low-level output of a moving magnet or moving coil phono cartridge and the line inputs of your Hi-Fi system. The R15 is housed in a 35 cm wide chassis with a thick steel top cover, which serves as a reliable shield for interference-sensitive circuits.
The R15 MM / MC phono preamplifier is designed to accurately amplify the delicate signal from any cartridge it is connected to. Despite being housed in a compact 15 Series chassis, the same technologies and high-quality components that define the design of the larger and more powerful R35 MM / MC phono preamplifier have influenced the design of the R15, allowing all circuits to work together for superior sound and accuracy. With sufficient gain to amplify the signal from virtually any moving magnet or moving coil cartridge, and very flexible input signal adjustment for perfect system matching.
Inside the R15, the power supply system consists of a toroidal transformer in a shielded enclosure and multiple rectifiers with stabilizers. The voltage from the socket passes through a network filter to the synphased HF transformers. When powered on, the signal is output with a delay after all operating modes are set in the circuit. Accordingly, no clicks are heard in the speakers.
In addition to numerous isolating chains on the power rails, the board features audiophile grade film capacitors. Another distinctive feature of the R15 is its ability to work with virtually any cartridge. Using DIP switches on the rear panel, you can select the optimal input parameters for cartridges with different requirements. Load resistances for MC cartridges can be selected from six most relevant values - 30, 50, 75, 100, 200 and 500 Ohms, and input capacitance from two - 100 and 1000 picofarads. For MM settings, the resistances are 47 and 2.5 kOhms, and capacitances - 100, 200, 300, and 400 picofarads. The user manual clearly shows how to set the required parameters.
