The PreSonus StudioLive 16R is a professional digital mixing console that can function autonomously, as well as a monitor mixer or stage box. This model is the youngest in the StudioLive line, differing from the older versions in size and number of channels. However, the device is fully compatible with StudioLive Series III mixing consoles and can serve as an excellent addition, expanding signal routing capabilities. The A/D converters have a wide dynamic range of 115 dB and operate at 24-bit resolution with a 48 kHz sampling rate.

- 16 channels with microphone and line inputs;
- Channels 15 and 16 duplicated with unbalanced RCA pair connectors;
- A/D/A conversion - 24 bit/48 kHz;
- Remote or wired control from a computer or tablet;

The mixer has 16 channels, each with a microphone/line input on a Combo Jack/XLR connector, with channels 15 and 16 duplicated by two RCA connectors. Each channel features an XMAX preamp, a third-generation Fat Channel effects processor containing delay, compressor, gate, limiter, and parametric EQ, as well as +48V phantom power for microphone inputs. There is a 6-band equalizer allowing full control over sound along with the Fat Channel in any situation.
The package includes the PreSonus UC Surface software for remote control of the device's functionality. This software is available on Windows (7 and above), macOS (10.8.5 and above), Android (5 and above), and iOS (9.3 and above) platforms. Connection can be achieved both wired and wirelessly. For the former, there is a USB-B port available, and for the latter, an RJ-45 port for connecting a Wi-Fi router. There is also an additional input on an RJ-45/Ethercon connector for transmitting signals to an AVB audio network, providing access to 32 inputs and 32 outputs. The device offers 18 inputs and 18 outputs via USB interface. For connecting the mixer to a sound system, there is a balanced stereo output on two XLR connectors. There are 6 additional outputs for implementing subgroups, AUX channels, and more, as well as a headphone output on 1/4'' Jack TRS connectors. On the front panel, there is an SD card slot for instant stereo recording and a Mute All button.
The mixer comes with license keys to activate the PreSonus UC Surface, Capture, Studio One Artist programs, and the Studio Magic plugin bundle. Capture enables multi-channel recording and virtual sound checking, Studio One is a versatile DAW from PreSonus, and Studio Magic includes high-quality plugins in VST, AAX, and AU formats, including SPL Attacker, Maag EQ2, Lexicon MPX-I, Brainworx bx_opto, among others.
The PreSonus StudioLive 16R is a versatile mixing console suitable for various installations: standalone operation as a rack mixer, complement to a StudioLive Series III mixing console, or functioning as a stage box. The device's 1U standard enclosure allows for easy installation in a rack module.
