The PreSonus AudioBox iTwo is an external USB audio interface designed for mobile use. Its ADC and DAC work in formats up to 24 bit/96 kHz, it features two combo inputs and two TRS outputs, as well as MIDI in/out and a 1/4" Jack headphones output.
Features:
- 2 combo microphone/instrument/line inputs XLR/TRS;
- 2 discrete Xmax microphone preamps with digital control and +48 Volt phantom power;
- Studio One and Capture Duo sequencers included.
The front panel of the audio interface provides access to two combo microphone/instrument inputs XLR/TRS. To the right of them is a button that controls the +48V phantom power. There are also level controls for these inputs, mixer volume knobs, and a headphone output (along with the output itself).
The remaining outputs on the PreSonus AudioBox iTwo are located at the back: two balanced TRS main out stereo outputs, MIDI in/out, and USB connection ports.
Inside the PreSonus AudioBox iTwo, you will also find 2 Xmax microphone preamps with phantom power for condenser microphones and digital control, which can be controlled directly from the proprietary sequencer. These preamps are located on both inputs.
PreSonus AudioBox iTwo features an internal analog mixer with near-zero latency monitoring, allowing for more efficient track recording control. In the box, you will find the Studio One proprietary sequencer, which is a full-featured product for recording and sound processing.
Finally, one of the features of this audio interface is the proprietary iPad recorder called Capture Duo. You can transfer sound from the sequencer for processing on the tablet, and then transfer it back to the computer in Studio One - thus achieving even greater mobility. To connect, a USB cable is used, which connects via the USB to the MFi (Made for iOS) output, and the second proprietary cable to the iPad. The main connection is made using a standard USB cable with a type B connector. But you are not limited to the bundled software: this audio interface works with any recording software that supports Core Audio protocols (Mac) or ASIO (Windows).
The PreSonus AudioBox iTwo chassis is made of metal, and the control knobs are attached to the housing for greater reliability.
