The PreSonus AIR12 is an active two-way compact and lightweight speaker from the AIR series by PreSonus, designed for home use, as a monitor for DJs and musicians, and other personal applications in mobile and permanent installations. The speaker features a bi-amp scheme, where signals for lower and all other frequency ranges are separately amplified, and a high level of sound pressure even in the lower models. Class D (for lower frequencies) and A/B (for upper frequencies) amplifiers provide a total dynamic power of up to 1200W. The maximum sound pressure level is 123 dB with a frequency range from 48 Hz to 20 kHz, allowing for detailed sound reproduction, especially when adding a subwoofer to the setup.

The control panel of the PreSonus AIR12 offers a variety of inputs, allowing you to connect the speaker to different sources. There are two combo XLR/TRS inputs, each with a microphone preamp and independent controls. An additional aux in 1/8" TRS mini-Jack (3.5 mm) input accepts signals from smartphones, tablets, and other consumer audio devices. These signals can be mixed together using the speaker's internal mixer, and the balanced XLR Mix Out output allows for routing signals to other AIR series speakers.
The PreSonus AIR12 cabinet can be installed in multiple ways, providing flexibility in placement. The polygonal design and rubber feet on the bottom and sides allow for vertical use or as a stage monitor. Mounting can be done using M10 mounting points, for example, placing the speaker on a stand or pole above a subwoofer. Additionally, the top handle makes it easy to transport the device.
The PreSonus AIR12 combines the best of both Class A amplifier types to provide optimal response across the frequency range. A Class D amplifier with continuous power of 500W for the 12" low-frequency driver is complemented by a Class A/B amplifier with 200W for the 1.35" high-frequency driver, delivering natural sound. These speakers come equipped with an easy-to-use built-in DSP, featuring a detachable LCD display for streamlined control. Dedicated controls for high and low frequencies allow for boosting by 10 dB or cutting to compensate for the acoustic environment. The DSP presets help optimize performance for stand or pole mounting, as well as traditional standalone use. The DSP also assists in adjusting the speaker to compensate for excessive low frequencies when installed on the floor. The constant dispersion is 90x60 degrees.
