The Polk Audio RC85i in-wall speaker system features a well-thought-out design and can provide high-quality sound when playing music of various genres, as well as movie soundtracks. The speaker is equipped with a large 8-inch low-frequency driver, which delivers substantial sound pressure and deep, rich low frequencies.
Despite its serious sound power, this built-in speaker not only does not take up space in the room, but also remains practically invisible. The Polk Audio RC85i can be used in all three front channels of home theaters or in stereo systems without a subwoofer. This speaker is ideal for use in high-end multi-room systems with remote placement of signal sources and amplifiers, allowing you to free up maximum space in the room.
The low-frequency driver in the speaker is equipped with a mineral-filled polymer cone, attached to an elastic butyl rubber surround. The driver is designed using the patented Dynamic Balance technology and computer modeling to optimize its parameters.
The high-frequency driver with a metalized soft dome (also made using Dynamic Balance technology) is mounted on a pivoting mount, allowing you to orient it in the desired direction. The drivers are mounted on an anti-resonant chassis, eliminating parasitic vibrations and coloration of sound, and connected to a crossover made of quality components. A pair of convenient push terminals is used for connecting the cable from the amplifier.
The Polk Audio RC85i is relatively easy to install and if done correctly, it practically does not disrupt the existing interior. The speaker can be used in areas with increased humidity, and the included protective grille can be painted to match any color. This speaker system is fully matched in sound with Polk Audio bookshelf speakers and can be used with them as part of combined sets.
