The Polk Audio RC60i built-in speaker system can be installed in the walls or ceiling of the room being soundproofed, and thanks to its thoughtful design, it is barely noticeable in the interior.
The speaker has a two-way configuration with coaxially placed drivers. This solution allowed to achieve rich sound across a wide frequency range, controlled directivity pattern, and make the front panel of the speaker small in size, making it convenient for installation. The Polk Audio RC60i is equipped with a low-frequency speaker with a polypropylene diffuser on a rubber suspension. The rigid and lightweight speaker diffuser is capable of moving at high speed without creating distortions or resonances. The woofer's design was optimized using computer modeling technology with Dynamic Balance to expand and equalize the frequency range and achieve maximum sound output.
Located in the center of the woofer on a swivel holder, the tweeter is equipped with a 0.75 mm silk dome with external metallization. This driver has also been optimized using Dynamic Balance technology. The speakers in the column are connected to a crossover network, made using a simple scheme of selected components and high reliability. The crossover tuning is done in a way that the sound of the Polk Audio RC60i is as close as possible to the rest of the company's speakers, including cabinet speakers, to create harmonious sets.
The use of a swivel tweeter in the Polk Audio RC60i speaker system allows you to direct the sound of the speaker to the most audible frequency range in the desired area. The speaker uses the "infinite baffle" principle and, in the absence of its own cabinet, uses all the available internal space of the wall or ceiling as the working volume. The simple swivel mounting significantly speeds up the installation and removal of the Polk Audio RC60i, making the implementation of installation projects based on it more cost-effective. This speaker is ideal for background music playback, including in multi-room systems, as well as in home theaters.
