Novation Launchkey 49 MK3 is an intuitive MIDI keyboard controller that is fully integrated for use with Ableton Live and external gear. The third generation Launchkey keyboards have retained all the best features of their predecessors and have gained a range of new functions: a powerful arpeggiator with a Mutate function, scale and chord modes that can be used in standalone mode, and a 5-pin MIDI output. The Scale mode transposes the keys to the notes of the selected scale, while the Chord mode plays chords with a single finger touch. The front panel now features a screen for visual representation of parameters and their changes. The 8 scale modes in Launchkey MK3 transpose the keys to the notes of the selected scale. The 3 chord modes turn the keys and pads into an interactive panel where each taken note is tonally and harmonically related.
The arpeggiator allows for exploring new melodies and quickly finding ideas, while the Mutate function transforms patterns into new forms. Custom modes simplify the interaction between Novation Launchkey MK3 and software. They can be programmed through Novation Components, allowing you to customize the behavior of Launchkey: control functions, MIDI routing, pad colors, and much more. The large pads with enhanced sensitivity provide better control over dynamics. The 8 fixed knobs enable software control. Integration with Ableton Live is achieved through dedicated buttons: Capture MIDI, Track Arm, Quantize, Click And Loop. In addition to Ableton Live, Launchkey also offers full integration with Logic and Reason, as well as compatibility with Studio One, Cubase, and Pro Tools via HUI.
