Noble Audio, known for their high-performance in-ear monitors (IEMs), has released new wired headphones equipped with advanced silicon microspeakers from xMEMS Labs.
Features:
- New xMEMS driver technology
- 8.3mm dynamic driver
- Connects to sources via USB-C
- Compatible with any smartphone using a USB-C port
The Noble Audio XM-1 headphones with a USB-C interface promise to "provide audiophiles with the opportunity to enjoy high-quality sound directly from their smartphones without the need for an additional DAC and amplifier."
The Noble Audio XM-1 uses a hybrid driver configuration, combining a traditional (but more compact, 8.3mm) low-frequency driver with the xMEMS Cowell solid-state high-frequency driver, dubbed the "world's smallest MEMS microspeaker." The result is remarkably clean mid and high frequencies, as expected from xMEMS Cowell, combined with full bass extension previously lacking in xMEMS products.
The wired in-ear headphones XM1 connect to sources via USB-C, meaning they have a built-in DAC and amplifier. The cable is detachable with proprietary 4-pin connectors. The housings are made of aluminum, and the sound tubes are made of stainless steel.
