Viking Ragnar
Viking Ragnar is an exemplary IEM designed not only to surpass all previous IEMs but also to set the standard for headphone sound in general. The bodies of Viking Ragnar are made of black aluminum and crowned with faceplates made of handcrafted stainless damascus steel. Master jeweler Chris Plouf was involved in the design of Viking Ragnar.
Features:
- Cast black aluminum body;
- Faceplates made of damascus steel;
- Hybrid driver configuration;
- Dual 10mm dynamic driver;
- 4 Knowles balanced armature drivers;
- 4 electrostatic drivers;
- Four-way crossover;
- MAGNUS-4 cable made of graphene, monocrystalline silver 4N, and silver/copper alloy;
- Signature 4.4mm Pentaconn connector.
Headphone Device
Viking Ragnar not only demonstrates the strength and flexibility of damascus steel but also delivers incredible sound and excellent acoustic characteristics. Ragnar consists of 10 drivers in total: two 10-millimeter dynamic drivers produce dense and deep bass, four Knowles drivers handle midrange and upper midrange frequencies, while four electrostatic tweeters cover the ultra-high frequency range.
All of this is managed and powered by a four-way crossover, and the EST drivers are powered by a second-generation Sonion transformer. Viking Ragnar has a impedance of 17 ohms and a sensitivity of 112 dB, however, like most electrostatic hybrids, they can absorb more energy than can be assumed from the statistics.
Design
The flagship Viking models have been very popular in the market, but manufacturing bodies from damascus steel takes a lot of time and costs are too high. Viking Ragnar solves this issue by offering flagship Viking sound to the listener at a lower price. At the same time, all components remain the same, with the body made of aluminum instead of damascus steel.
Viking Ragnar maintains the same shape as the flagship series. Runes meaning Viking II are inscribed on the top of the body.
Cable
To fully unleash the potential of the headphones, a high-quality cable is needed. The exclusive MAGNUS-4 cable does an excellent job at this task and fits perfectly into the overall Viking design concept. The cable with a complex geometric internal layout includes graphene, monocrystalline silver, and a silver-copper alloy to fully reveal any audio material and transmit it as naturally as possible.
MAGNUS-4 consists of 4 conductors with 113 strands each. The total number of strands in the cable reaches 532. The cable is terminated with the signature Pentaconn 4.4mm plug and two-pin connectors for headphone connection.
Ear Tips
When it comes to ear tips, Viking Ragnar comes with a set that is included with most Noble headphones. It includes standard wide black silicone tips with a single flange, and two sets of foam tips in black-and-white (narrow bore) and black (wide bore). All pairs of ear tips come in small, medium, and large sizes.
