The Niimbus US 5 PRO is the successor to the popular headphone amplifiers US 4 / US 4+. The new amplifier offers the same unrivaled powerful, noise-free, and perfectly sounding headphone amplifier circuit that can drive any dynamic and planar headphones. The Niimbus US 5 is equipped with a preamplifier function for direct connection and control of amplifiers or active speakers. Almost all functions can be controlled using the stylish remote control.
Based on more than three decades of development experience from Lake People and the technical and visual requirements of the Violectric brand, taken to a new, previously unknown level of quality, the new name of the Niimbus devices logically means "Ultimate Series".

Thanks to Niimbus US 5 PRO's unique technologies, it not only offers one of the most powerful headphone amplifiers on the market but also:
- the lowest noise level due to minimal internal amplification, making the amplifier's self-generated noise inaudible
- high output voltage of up to 50V internal working voltage, making it ideal for high-impedance headphones that require high output voltage
- high output power, thanks to transistors that provide much greater power needed for even the most demanding headphones. Niimbus US 5 PRO is best suited for low-impedance headphones as well as models with planar-magnetic drivers
- high damping factor due to low output impedance, making it perfect for difficult-to-drive headphones without any negative side effects and with a guarantee of uncompromising frequency response.
The amplifier has a fully symmetrical "dual mono" circuit with power supplied by two toroidal transformers and the capacitance of their storage capacitors is 50000 µF. To adapt to different headphones, there is a pre-amplification adjustment range from -18 to +24 dB.
The controls and headphone connectors are located on the front panel. There are volume and balance controls, input selectors, an infrared receiver window for the remote control, indicators, and a power button. The front panel is made of 10 mm thick aluminum, and the side parts of the housing are covered with narrow metal overlays held in place by magnets. The buttons on the front panel can activate the headphone and line outputs separately or together.
The fully redesigned analog amplifier circuit with 100% channel separation consists of manually selected audiophile components and is optimized to provide minimal noise levels and extremely high performance even with headphones with very low impedance.
Combined with the high-capacity capacitor power supply and high voltage, you get an extremely detailed and precise sound that is reproduced effortlessly in any environment and with any headphones, capturing all the nuances of the music. The difference from the US 5 model is that the US 5 PRO model uses a motorized potentiometer, while the volume control in the US 5 PRO is connected to a microcomputer which, in turn, controls a network of constant resistors through durable reed relays. This controller has 256 discrete volume levels.
