Description

The Neumann TLM 102 is a studio condenser microphone that represents a new era for Neumann studio microphones. Despite its small size, the TLM 102 incorporates all the advanced features of Neumann technologies. Its harmonious proportions, classic design, and shiny ring on the protective grille ensure that it will catch your attention.

The TLM 102 produces impressive sound quality: it is equipped with a new large-diaphragm capsule (cardioid) that allows for a maximum sound pressure level of 144 dB and quick transient response. This microphone effortlessly handles percussion, drums, guitar amps, and other loud sound sources.

However, the true strengths of the TLM 102 shine when it comes to vocal and speech recording and broadcasting: a slight boost in the mid-range above 6 kHz provides superior voice intelligibility in the mix. The frequency response up to 6 kHz is extremely linear, ensuring minimal sound coloring and a well-defined bass response.

To reduce any unwanted structural noise, the microphone capsule is mounted elastically to the body. The built-in pop filter in the protective grille effectively eliminates explosive consonant sounds.

The TLM 102 is perfect for use in home and low-budget studios, project studios, and radio broadcasting studios thanks to its affordable price and wide range of applications.

It comes in two versions: nickel-plated and black (mt).

The package includes the metal swivel mount SG 2.

Impedance, Ohms

No higher than 32 Ohms for smartphone headphones. When using a good player or amplifier, it can be up to 100 Ohms. For stationary models you should coordinate the impedance with the amplifier power

Microphone polar pattern

Omnidirectional, cardioid and supercardioid. It determines the sensitivity of the microphone to sound relative to the direction or angle, i.e. shows how well the microphone "hears" sound from different sides

Glossary of terms
cardioid

The polar pattern of the microphone that picks up the sound in front of it.

Словарь терминов

condenser

A metal membrane consisting of plates (a condenser) oscillates under the influence of sound air flows converting a sound wave into an electromagnetic one.
