The Neumann KH 120 II is a professional studio monitor. Neumann presents an updated version of their two-way nearfield monitor in the KH series, offering more efficient low-frequency reproduction, increased sound pressure, extended DSP capabilities, and a more linear frequency and phase response.
Features:
- Speaker size: 5.25" woofer, 1" tweeter
- Frequency range: 44 Hz - 21 kHz (±3 dB)
- Maximum sound pressure level (SPL): 116.8 dB
- Crossover frequency: 1.7 kHz
The new version is equipped with class D amplifiers with a total power of 245 Watts (145 + 100), and in standby mode, they consume only 17 Watts. It is noted that automatic standby mode reduces power consumption to 0.3 Watts when the monitor is not in use for some time, but this mode can be turned off. In addition, the KH 120 II utilizes all the advantages of DSP-controlled electronics, and their complex crossovers help avoid phase distortions usually caused by analog filters. They also help the monitors remain tonally consistent and provide a clear sound image.
Among other things, the built-in DSP allows for automatic room alignment of the monitors in combination with the Neumann MA-1 software-hardware solution (sold separately). This additional solution helps achieve effective monitoring in an "imperfect" environment, such as a small home studio or any space that has not been acoustically treated. It is worth noting that the KH 120 II can be combined with other monitors in the KH series in immersive or surround configurations.
