The SUPERNAIT 3 has undergone significant upgrades to enhance performance. With the addition of a built-in phono stage, the SUPERNAIT 3 is now the perfect partner for turntables - as well as for streamers, CD players, and any other music sources you want to enjoy with Naim's signature sound.
The Class A preamplifier stage acts as a headphone amplifier. Ceramic heat sinks minimize capacitive coupling between the chassis and output transistors for optimal sound quality.
Each input is separately isolated for minimum noise and interference. Ultra-low noise DC sources are used in the internal input relay, based on Naim's flagship NAC 552 preamplifier.
The SUPERNAIT 3 can be further upgraded with external power supplies, power amplifiers, and cables to achieve the maximum quality sound.
Technology and Craftsmanship:
Naim's research team has found a way to more than double the voltage amplification cascade speed, resulting in a twofold increase in the reaction speed of the output cascade. The transistors of the second amplification cascade are optimized and no longer require cascode shielding. This means the amplifier requires less stabilization, resulting in a twofold increase in the output voltage rise rate, noticeably improving sound quality.
The phono stage consists of three cascades: an amplification cascade, a passive equalization cascade, and an active equalization end amplifier cascade. This solution offers an excellent signal-to-noise ratio, the ability for RIAA equalization beyond the audible sound spectrum, and excellent overload margin.
All capacitors and resistors for RIAA equalization are film components for through-mounting, with reduced microphone effect and excellent peak characteristics. Since phono stages are 1000 times more sensitive than other inputs, this solution significantly improves sound quality. The input impedance is 47 kΩ parallel to a capacitive load of 470 pF - ideal for 5 mV moving magnet cartridges.
